We firmly believe that the redevelopment project for the India Basin brings character and voice to a community that was once neglected and uncared of. The competition fuels our passion in creating a spatial artwork that will invite people of all backgrounds to gather and connect with one another, while preserving the memories, history and the physicalities that make India Basin unique.
Through that, we designed a pavilion, which provides a reflective space for the community to preserve the intangible connection they have with the India Basin. Visitors are engaged with different experiences through different circulatory paths that lead to multiple points of view and connections to the historic and picturesque waterfront. We are designing in the hope to represent the community’s voice and identity and at the same time, providing a platform for engagedment and involvement in the betterment of the community.
